Camshaft Runout

  1. Measure the camshaft runout at "A" and "B" as shown.

  3. Set dial gauges vertically as shown.
  4. Turn camshaft in one direction slowly by hand, measure the camshaft runout on the dial gauges.
    • Runout is the largest indicator reading after one full revolution.
    1. Maximum runout limit : 0.05 mm (0.0020 in) 
  5. If actual runout exceeds the limit, replace the camshaft.
