WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Nissan Quest. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Malfunction "B" is detected when there is little difference between MAP/BARO solenoid input voltage at ambient barometric pressure and MAP/BARO solenoid input voltage at intake manifold pressure. Possible causes are:
- MAP/BARO solenoid circuit open or shorted.
- Vacuum hoses clogged, disconnected or improperly connected.
- Defective Absolute Pressure (AP) sensor.
- Defective MAP/BARO solenoid.
To set DTC, start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Turn ignition off and wait at least 5 seconds. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select DATA MONITOR and ensure FUEL T/TMP SE value is more than 32°F (0°C). Start engine and let it idle for at least 10 seconds. If first trip DTC is detected, perform DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE "B" .
