Diagnostic Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Nissan Quest. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM and TCM harness connectors. See Figure. TCM is located behind left side of instrument panel, to right of steering column. Check continuity of the following:
    • Green/White wire between TCM harness connector terminal No. 5 and ECM harness connector terminal No. 26.
    • White wire between TCM harness connector terminal No. 6 and ECM harness connector terminal No. 27.
    • Pink/Black wire between TCM harness connector terminal No. 7 and ECM harness connector terminal No. 35.

    See Figure and Fig 1 . Also, check circuits for short to ground and short to voltage. Repair circuit(s) as necessary and retest system. If all circuits are okay, go to next step.

  2. No problem is indicated at this time. Problem may be intermittent. See INTERMITTENTS in TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
