DTC Confirmation Test

Misfire is detected when CKP sensor detects a fluctuation in engine speed. Possible causes are:
- Incorrect spark plugs.
- Insufficient compression.
- Incorrect fuel pressure.
- Injector circuit open or shorted.
- Defective injectors.
- Intake air leak.
- Secondary ignition circuit open or shorted.
- Lack of fuel.
- Defective drive plate or flywheel.
- Defective front HO2S.
To set DTC, turn ignition on. Select DATA MONITOR with scan tool. Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Turn ignition off and wait at least 5 seconds. Start engine and drive vehicle at 1500-3000 RPM for at least 3 minutes. Hold accelerator pedal as steady as possible. If first trip DTC is detected, perform DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
NOTE:
To set DTC, it may be necessary to duplicate driving conditions noted in freeze-frame data.
