DTC Confirmation Test "C"
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Nissan Quest. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Malfunction "C" is detected when ECM receives a low voltage from TP sensor under heavy-load driving conditions. Possible causes are:
- TP sensor circuit open or shorted.
- Intake air leaks.
- Defective TP sensor.
- To set DTC, start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Turn ignition off and wait at least 5 seconds. Turn ignition on. Select MANU TRIG and HI SPEED in DATA MONITOR mode with scan tool. Select THRTL POS SEN and ABSOL TH-P/S in DATA MONITOR mode.
- Press RECORD on scan tool. Slowly press accelerator pedal. Recorded voltage should increase in proportion to throttle position. When throttle is fully depressed, voltage should be about 4 volts. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, perform DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
- Select AUTO TRIG in DATA MONITOR mode. Drive vehicle uphill, to increase engine load, maintaining the following scan tool values for at least 10 consecutive seconds:
- ENG SPEED: More than 2000 RPM.
- MAS AIR/FL SE-B1: More than 3 volts.
- COOLAN TEMP/S: More than 158°F (70°C).
- IACV-AAC/V: Less than 80 percent.
If first trip DTC is detected, perform DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
