DTC Confirmation Test "B"

NOTE:
Engine coolant temperature must remain less than 194°F (90°C) during confirmation test "B".
Malfunction "B" is detected when ECM receives an incorrect voltage from IAT sensor, compared to Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor voltage. Possible causes are:
- IAT sensor circuit open or shorted.
- Defective IAT sensor.
To set DTC, ensure engine is cold. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select DATA MONITOR. Start engine and test drive vehicle at 44 MPH or more for 100 consecutive seconds. If first trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
