Diagnostic Procedure

Check and ensure PCV hose is connected correctly. If hose is damaged, loose or perforated, repair or replace as necessary. Then go to next step. If PCV hose is OK, go to next step.
Start engine and allow to idle. Listen for intake air leaks after the MAF sensor. If no problem exists, go to next step. If problems exist, locate air leak and repair as necessary.
Turn ignition off. Replace ECM. Perform the following:
- Perform initialization of NVIS (NATS) system and registration of all NVIS (NATS) ignition key IDs. See IMMOBILIZER SYSTEMS under DOORS, LOCKS & ANTI-THEFT in ACCESSORIES & BODY, CAB article.
- Perform ACCELERATOR PEDAL RELEASED POSITION LEARNING PROCEDURE .
- Perform THROTTLE VALVE CLOSED POSITION LEARNING PROCEDURE .
- Perform IDLE AIR VOLUME LEARNING PROCEDURE . Inspection is complete.
