DTC Confirmation Test

Misfire is detected when CKP sensor detects a fluctuation in engine speed. Possible causes are:
- Incorrect spark plugs.
- Insufficient compression.
- Incorrect fuel pressure.
- Defective EGR valve.
- Injector circuit open or shorted.
- Defective injectors.
- Intake air leak.
- Secondary ignition circuit open or shorted.
- Lack of fuel.
- Defective drive plate or flywheel.
- Defective HO2S.
To set DTC, turn ignition on. Select DATA MONITOR with scan tool. Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds. Start engine and drive vehicle at 1500-3000 RPM for at least 3 minutes. Hold accelerator pedal as steady as possible. If first trip DTC is detected, perform DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
NOTE:
To set DTC, it may be necessary to duplicate driving conditions noted in freeze-frame data.
