DTC Confirmation Test "B" & "E"

Malfunction "B" is detected when ECM receives an excessively low voltage from MAF sensor when engine is running. ECM will enter fail-safe mode. Malfunction "E" is detected when voltage is constantly one volt when engine is running. Possible causes are:
- MAF sensor circuit open or shorted.
- Intake air leaks.
- Defective MAF sensor.
To set DTC, turn ignition on. Select DATA MONITOR with scan tool. Start engine and wait no more than 5 seconds. If first trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
NOTE:
If first trip DTC is detected after 5 seconds, malfunction "C" may be present.
