DTC Confirmation Test

NOTE:
If DTC confirmation test has been previously performed, always turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds before performing the next test.
With CONSULT-II
- Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds. Turn ignition on. Select SELF-LEARNING CONT in WORK SUPPORT mode with CONSULT-II. Clear self-learning control coefficient by pressing CLEAR.
- Select DATA MONITOR mode with CONSULT-II. Start engine and let it idle for at least 10 minutes. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
- If it is difficult to start engine, fuel injection system has a malfunction. Crank engine while depressing accelerator pedal. If engine starts, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If engine does not start, check for spark plug fouling.
With Generic Scan Tool
- Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds. Disconnect MAF sensor harness connector. See Figure . Start engine and let it idle for at least 3 seconds. Turn ignition off and reconnect MAF sensor harness connector.
- Using scan tool, Select MODE 7, and ensure 1st trip DTC P0102 is detected. Select MODE 4 and erase 1st trip DTC. Start engine and let it idle for at least 10 minutes. Select MODE 7. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
- If it is difficult to start engine, fuel injection system has a malfunction. Attempt to start engine while depressing accelerator pedal. If engine starts, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If engine does not start, check for spark plug fouling.
