DTC Confirmation Test

CAUTION: Always drive vehicle at a safe speed.
NOTE: If DTC confirmation test has been previously performed, always turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds before performing the next test.
NOTE: For best results, perform DTC confirmation test when ambient temperature is 14°F (-10°C) or more and engine coolant temperature is 14-140°F (-10-60°C).
  1. Replace thermostat using an OEM replacement. Turn ignition on. Select COOLAN TEMP/S in DATA MONITOR mode with scan tool.
  2. Ensure COOLAN TEMP/S is more than 140°F (60°C). Drive vehicle at 50-75 MPH for 10 consecutive minutes.
  3. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, system is okay at this time.
