DTC Confirmation Test

CAUTION:
Always drive vehicle at a safe speed.
NOTE:
If DTC confirmation test has been previously conducted, always turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds before conducting the next test.
With CONSULT-II
- Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Ensure no electrical loads (cooling fan, rear window defogger, etc.) are applied.
- Turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds. Turn ignition on and select DATA MONITOR mode with CONSULT-II.
- Restart engine and wait at least 30 seconds. Let engine idle for at least 50 seconds.
- Test is completed when INT/V SOL-B1 in DATA MONITOR mode remains OFF. If indication remains ON, repeat step 3 .
- Maintain the following conditions for at least 30 seconds:
- ENG SPEED: more than 2000 RPM.
- B/FUEL SCHDL: more than 6 msec.
- Transmission: 3rd gear with OD off (A/T) or 5th gear (M/T).
- Test is completed when INT/V SOL-B1 in DATA MONITOR mode remains ON. If indication remains ON, repeat step 5 .
- If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, system is okay at this time.
With Generic Scan Tool
- Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Ensure no electrical loads (cooling fan, rear window defogger, etc.) are applied.
- Turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds. Restart engine and wait at least 30 seconds. Let engine idle for at least 50 seconds.
- Maintain the following conditions for at least 30 seconds.
- ENG SPEED: more than 2000 RPM.
- B/FUEL SCHDL: more than 6 msec.
- Transmission: 3rd gear with OD off (A/T) or 5th gear (M/T).
- Select MODE 7 with scan tool. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, system is okay at this time.
