Disabling & Activating Air Bag System

WARNING: Accidental air bag deployment is possible. Personal injury may result. Wait at least 3 minutes after disabling air bag system before servicing. Servicing system before 3-minute period may cause accidental air bag deployment and possible personal injury.

To disable air bag system, turn ignition off. Disconnect negative, then positive battery cable. Wait at least 3 minutes before working on or near air bag system components.
To activate air bag system, connect positive, then negative battery cables. Turn ignition on. Check AIR BAG warning light operation. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
