Air Bag Warning Light Is Flashing

  1. Observe AIR BAG warning light. If it flashes every one-half second, a fault has been detected. Go to RETRIEVING CODES  under DIAGNOSTICS. If light is on for 3 seconds and off for 2 seconds, previous problem may not have been erased from memory or an intermittent problem has been detected. Go to next step.
  2. If this is first time for air bag system service, check for intermittent malfunction. Go to INTERMITTENT CODES USING CONSULT TESTER  under DIAGNOSTICS. CONSULT tester must be used to retrieve intermittent and past codes.
  3. If this is not first time for air bag system service, turn ignition switch to OFF position. This resets system from DIAGNOSIS mode to USER mode and erases memory. Go to SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  .
