Diagnostic Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Nissan Maxima and 2002 Infiniti I35. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Turn ignition on. Select CAN COMM SIGNALS in DATA MONITOR mode with scan tool. If OK is displayed for CAN COMM, CAN CIRC 1, CAN CIRC 2 and CAN CIRC 3 (models with TCS only), system is okay. If OK is not displayed for these circuits, repair communication problem. See appropriate CAN SYSTEMS article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.
