Idle Speed & Ignition Timing

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2002 Nissan Xterra, 2002 Nissan Sentra, 2002 Nissan Quest, 2002 Nissan Pathfinder, and 2002 Nissan Maxima. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Ensure idle speed and ignition timing are set to specification. Improper setting of ignition timing and idle speed may cause driveability problems and/or false setting of trouble codes. For adjustment procedures, see THROTTLE POSITION SWITCH, IGNITION TIMING & IDLE SPEED in ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article.
