Removal & Installation (4WD Models)

  1. Remove rear drive shaft from vehicle. See appropriate DRIVE SHAFTS & UNIVERSAL JOINTS article in DRIVELINE/AXLES.
  2. Remove transfer case. See appropriate REMOVAL & INSTALLATION article.
  3. Remove rear oil seal.
  4. Apply ATF to NEW seal and install using hammer and Seal Installer (J26082). See Fig 1 .

  5. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
