Removal & Installation (RE4F04B)

- Drain transmission fluid from transaxle.
- Remove oil pan and gasket. Always replace oil pan bolts as they are self-sealing bolts.
- Disconnect transaxle harness connector. See Fig 1 .
- Remove stopper ring from transaxle solenoid valve harness terminal body. See Fig 2 .
- Remove transaxle solenoid valve harness by pushing terminal body into case.
- Remove valve body assembly mounting bolts "A", "B" and "C". See Fig 3 . Remove valve body. Be careful not to drop manual valve and servo release accumulator return springs.
- Disassemble and inspect valve body assembly if necessary. See OVERHAUL article.
- Remove servo release and N-D accumulators by applying compressed air if necessary. See Fig 4 . Hold each piston with a clean, lint-free towel.
- To install valve body assembly, set manual valve in Neutral position and align with manual plate. See Fig 5
. Install valve body assembly with bolts in appropriate location. See VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY BOLT IDENTIFICATION
table. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
