Front Axle Shaft: Removal

WARNING:
Before removing nuts from torsion bar anchor bolt, ensure twisting force is eliminated from torsion bar.
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove wheels.
- Remove hub cap and snap ring from hub assembly.
- Remove bolts attaching axle shaft to final drive.
- Remove lower control arm bolts and nuts at frame.
- Cover axle shaft boots with shop towel to prevent damage.
- Lightly tap end of axle shaft with a copper hammer to separate axle shaft from steering knuckle.
- Remove axle shaft.
