Reassembly (Outboard Side)

Mount axle shaft in vise.
Wrap tape around shaft splines.
Slide boot, with NEW small clamp, onto axle shaft.
Set joint onto axle shaft by lightly tapping it. Install joint securely, ensuring marks made during disassembly are properly aligned.
Pack outboard joint with 4.06-4.41 ozs. (115-125 g) of grease.
Position boot to correct length. Outboard boot length should be 3.78-3.86 in. (96-98 mm). See Fig 1 .
Lock boot clamps in place using hammer and punch. See Figure .
