Disassembly (Outboard Side)

NOTE: Outer boot is made of rubber or resin. On models equipped with rubber outer boot, joint can be removed from axle shaft for boot replacement but cannot be disassembled. Models equipped with resin boots require replacement of axle assembly.

Mount axle shaft in vise.
Mark joint and axle shaft for reassembly reference.
Separate joint with suitable tool using caution while removing to avoid damage to axle shaft threads. See Fig 1 .
Remove boot clamps.
