Axle Shaft: Removal

- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove wheel.
- Remove ABS wheel sensor from steering knuckle.
- Remove wheel bearing hub nut from end of axle.
- Remove brake hose lock plate, then remove brake hose from strut.
- Remove lower ball joint pinch bolt and separate lower ball joint from steering knuckle. See Fig 1
- Remove axle shaft from steering knuckle hub using appropriate puller tool.
- Remove left axle shaft from transaxle using appropriate puller tool.
- Remove support bearing bolts and pull right axle shaft from transaxle.
- Remove right axle shaft from transaxle. See Fig 2 .
