Disassembly (Inner Joint)

  1. Place axle shaft into soft-jaw vise, with inner joint facing up.
  2. Remove boot clamps. See Fig 1 .

  3. Mark slide joint housing and axle shaft in relation to each other for reassembly reference.
  4. Mark spider assembly-to-drive shaft location for reassembly reference.
  5. Remove snap ring and then spider assembly.
  6. Remove boot. Cover axle shaft splines with vinyl tape to prevent damage to boots.
