Parking Brake

Adjust clearance between rear brake shoe and drum as follows:
- Release parking brake lever and loosen adjusting nut.
- Depress brake pedal fully at least 10 times with engine running.
- Pull control lever 4-5 notches. Then adjust control lever by turning adjusting nut.
- Apply parking brake using 44 lbs. (20 kg) of force, counting the number of notches. See PARKING BRAKE LEVER STROKE SPECIFICATIONS table. Check pedal stroke and ensure smooth operation.
- Bend warning lamp switch plate to ensure warning lamp comes on when lever is lifted one notch and goes off when the lever is fully released.
