Air Bag Warning Light Stays On

- If air bag module has been deployed, replace appropriate air bag system components. See POST-COLLISION INSPECTION . If air bag components have not deployed, check for faulty AIR BAG fuse, located in fuse block below left side of instrument panel. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is not okay, replace fuse. Turn ignition on. If AIR BAG fuse blows again, repair or replace air bag system harness. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Connect CONSULT tester to Data Link Connector (DLC), located under left side of instrument panel. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Touch START on CONSULT tester. If AIR BAG is not displayed on CONSULT tester, visually inspect diagnosis sensor unit wiring harness connector. Replace harness if connector is damaged. If connector is not damaged, replace diagnosis sensor unit. See DIAGNOSIS SENSOR UNIT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- If AIR BAG is displayed on CONSULT tester, check connectors between AIR BAG warning light and diagnosis sensor unit. If connectors are loose or not connected properly, reconnect properly. If AIR BAG warning light does not go off, replace wire harness. If connectors are okay, replace diagnosis sensor unit. See DIAGNOSIS SENSOR UNIT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
