DTC Confirmation Test

Malfunction is detected when PCM receives a high voltage from fuel level sensor. Possible causes are:
- Fuel level sensor circuit open or shorted.
- Defective fuel level sensor.
Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). See Figure . Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select DATA MONITOR. Wait at least 5 seconds. If first trip DTC is sets, perform DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If first trip DTC is not set, problem may be intermittent. See TESTING PROCEDURE under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
