DTC Confirmation Test

NOTE:
Ensure battery voltage is greater than 11 volts with ignition on before performing confirmation procedure.
Malfunction is detected when PCM receives an excessively low or high voltage from fuel level sensor. Possible causes are:
- Fuel level sensor circuit open or shorted.
- Defective fuel level sensor.
Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). See Figure . Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select DATA MONITOR. Turn ignition on and wait at least 5 seconds. If first trip DTC is sets, perform DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If first trip DTC is not set, problem may be intermittent. See TESTING PROCEDURE under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
