DTC Confirmation Test

NOTE:
Ensure battery voltage is greater than 11 volts at idle before performing this confirmation procedure.
Malfunction is detected when improper voltage is sent to PCM through EVAP Canister Purge Volume Control Solenoid Valve (EVAP-CPVCSV). Possible causes are:
- EVAP-CPVCSV circuit open or shorted.
- Defective EVAP-CPVCSV.
Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). See Figure . Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select DATA MONITOR. Start engine and let idle for at least 13 seconds. If first trip DTC is sets, perform DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If first trip DTC is not set, problem may be intermittent. See TESTING PROCEDURE under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
