DTC Confirmation Test "A"

Malfunction is detected when EGR temperature sensor voltage is low when engine coolant temperature is low. Possible causes are:
- EGR temperature sensor circuit shorted.
- Defective EGR temperature sensor.
- EGR system not functioning properly.
Connect Scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). See Figure . Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, check engine coolant temperature. Ensure engine coolant temperature is less than 122°F (50°C). Start engine and let idle for at least 8 seconds. If a first trip DTC is retrieved, perform DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If DTC is not set, go to next confirmation test.
