DTC Confirmation Test

NOTE:
Using scan tool, ensure coolant temperature is less than 120°F (50°C) before beginning confirmation test.
Malfunction is detected when PCM receives an excessively low or high voltage from FTT sensor, or when voltage received is rationally incorrect compared to ECT sensor and IAT sensor. Possible causes are:
- FTT sensor circuit open or shorted.
- Defective FTT sensor.
Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). See Figure . Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select DATA MONITOR. Wait at least 10 seconds. If first trip DTC is sets, perform DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If first trip DTC is not set, problem may be intermittent. See TESTING PROCEDURE .
