DTC Confirmation Test "C"
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Nissan Sentra. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Malfunction "C" is detected when PCM receives a low voltage from TP sensor under heavy-load driving conditions. Possible causes are:
- TP sensor circuit open or shorted.
- Intake air leaks.
- Defective TP sensor.
Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Using a DVOM, backprobe PCM harness connector and measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 61 (Green wire) at PCM harness connector. See Figure . Drive vehicle under a heavy-load condition with engine speed greater than 2000 RPM and voltage at terminal No. 61 greater than 3 volts for at least 10 consecutive seconds. If first trip DTC is sets, perform DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If first trip DTC is not set, problem may be intermittent. See TESTING PROCEDURE .
