Removal & Installation

- Heated Oxygen Sensors (HO2S) are mounted in exhaust pipe, upstream and downstream of catalytic converter. HO2S is equipped with a permanent pigtail which must be protected from damage when removing HO2S.
- HO2S may be difficult to remove when engine temperature is less than 120°F (49°C). Ensure HO2S is free of contaminants. Avoid using cleaning solvents of any type. Always use anti-seize compound on threads before installing. Tighten HO2S to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
