Removal and Installation (3.5L)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Nissan Altima. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Handle the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor with care, do not shock it, do not disassemble it, do not touch the internal sensor.
NOTE: The intake air temperature sensor is built into the mass air flow sensor. See Figure.
  1. Disconnect the harness connector form the MAF sensor. See Fig 3.
  2. Disconnect the tube clamp at the electrical throttle control actuator and the fresh air intake tube.
  3. Remove air cleaner to electronic throttle control actuator tube, air cleaner case (upper), with MAF sensor attached. See Fig 4.
  4. Remove MAF sensor from air cleaner case (upper), as necessary.
  5. Remove resonator in the fender, lift left fender protector, as necessary.
  6. Installation is in the reverse order of removal. Tighten components to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
