Removal & Installation (3.5L)

- Remove engine cover if necessary.
- Remove the air cleaner case lid and MAF sensor and air intake tube as an assembly. See MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR .WARNING: To avoid the danger of being scalded, never drain the coolant when the engine is hot.CAUTION: Use caution with any components that may be hot. Or any that could cause a injury, or a hazardous conditions.CAUTION: Cover any engine openings to avoid the entry of any foreign materials.
- Disconnect the electric throttle control actuator harness connector. See Fig 3.CAUTION: Handle the electric throttle control actuator carefully to avoid any shock or damage to the electrical throttle control actuator.NOTE: When disconnecting the electric throttle control actuator from the intake manifold collector pipe, loosen the four bolts in a diagonal pattern.

- Installation is the reverse order of removal. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- After installation, it is necessary to re-calibrate the electric throttle control actuator:
- Perform the THROTTLE VALVE CLOSED POSITION LEARNING when ever the electric throttle control actuator is disconnected. See THROTTLE VALVE CLOSED POSITION LEARNING .
- Perform IDLE AIR VOLUME LEARNING when the electric throttle control actuator is replaced. See IDLE AIR VOLUME LEARNING .
