Diagnostic Procedure No. 6: Procedure

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Turn ignition switch to ON position using a registered key. Wait 5 seconds and turn ignition off. Repeat this cycle 2 more times for a total of 3 cycles. Attempt to start engine. If engine starts, system is functioning correctly and NATS has deactivated LOCK MODE. If engine does not start, go to next step.
  2. Ensure that IMMU is installed correctly. If IMMU is not installed correctly, system will not operate properly and SELF-DIAG RESULTS on CONSULT will display LOCK MODE or CHAIN OF IMMU-KEY. If IMMU is installed correctly, go to next step. If IMMU is not installed correctly, install IMMU correctly and retest system.
  3. Perform ignition key programming. See IMMU INITIALIZATION  under PROGRAMMING. If initialization is not completed or fails, CONSULT message will be INITIALIZATION FAIL - THEN IGN KEY SW 'OFF' AND 'ON', AFTER CONFIRMING SELF-DIAG AND PASSWORD, PERFORM C/U INITIALIZATION AGAIN. If system cannot be initialized, see DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE NO. 4  . If system can be initialized, system is functioning correctly.
