Piston, Crankshaft And Oil Jet

- Remove engine. Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".
- Place engine on a work stand.
- Drain coolant and oil.
- Remove oil pan. Refer to "REMOVAL ".
- Remove timing chain. Refer to "REMOVAL ".
- Remove cylinder head. Refer to "REMOVAL ".
- Remove pistons with connecting rods.
- When disassembling piston and connecting rod, remove snap ring first, then heat piston to 60 to 70°C (140 to 158°F).
- Remove rear oil seal retainer.
- Loosen bolts in numerical order as shown and remove main bearing beam, bearing cap and crankshaft.
- Before removing bearing beam and bearing cap, measure crankshaft end play. Refer to " ASSEMBLY ".
- Bolts should be loosened in two or three steps.
- Remove oil jets.
