TCM Self-Diagnostic Procedure (No Tools)

  1. CHECK O/D OFF INDICATOR LAMP 
    1. Move selector lever to P position.

      Start engine and warm it up to normal engine operating temperature.

    2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
    3. Wait 5 seconds.
    4. Turn ignition switch to ON position. (Do not start engine.)

    5. Does O/D OFF indicator lamp come on for about 2 seconds?

    Yes or No

  2. JUDGEMENT PROCEDURE STEP 1 
    1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
    2. Push and hold shift lock release button.
    3. Move selector lever to D position.

    4. Push and hold overdrive control switch to ON position.
    5. Turn ignition switch to ON position. (Do not start engine.)

      Wait more than 2 seconds after turning ignition switch to ON.

    • : GO TO 3.
  3. JUDGEMENT PROCEDURE STEP 2 

    """""1

    1. Move selector lever to L position.

    2. Release overdrive control switch to OFF position. (O/D OFF indicator lamp: ON)
    • : GO TO 4.
  4. JUDGEMENT PROCEDURE STEP 3 
    1. Move selector lever to D position.

    2. Push and hold overdrive control switch to ON position. (O/D OFF indicator lamp: OFF)
    • : GO TO 5.
  5. JUDGEMENT PROCEDURE STEP 4 
    1. Depress accelerator pedal fully and release it.

    • : GO TO 6.
  6. CHECK SELF-DIAGNOSTIC CODE 

    Check O/D OFF indicator lamp.
