- Measure clearance between side cover and the end of the output shaft bearing.
- Select proper thickness of adjusting shim so that clearance is within specifications.
- Install bearing retainer for output shaft.
- Install needle bearing on bearing retainer.
- Install output shaft on transaxle case.
- Measure dimensions "l 1" and "l 2" at side cover and then calculate dimension "A".
- Measure dimension "l 1" and "l 2" in at least two places.
- "A": Distance between transaxle case fitting surface and adjusting shim mating surface.
- A= l1 - l2
- l2: Height of gauge
- Measure dimension "l 1" and "l 2" in at least two places.
- Measure dimensions "l 2" and "l 3" and then calculate dimension "B".
- Measure "l 2" and "l 3" in at least two places.
- "B": Distance between the end of output shaft bearing outer race and the side cover fitting surface of transaxle case.
- B=l 2 - l 3
- l 2: Height of gauge
- Measure "l 2" and "l 3" in at least two places.
- Select proper thickness of adjusting shim so that output shaft end play (clearance between side cover and output shaft bearing) is within specifications.
- Output shaft end play (A-B): 0 - 0.15 mm (0 - 0.0059 in)
- Output shaft end play adjusting shims: Refer to " OUTPUT SHAFT ADJUSTING SHIMS ".
- Install adjusting shim on output shaft bearing.
