Headlamp Does Not Change To High Beam (Both Sides)

- CHECK COMBINATION SWITCH INPUT SIGNAL
With CONSULT-II
Select "BCM" on CONSULT-II. With "HEAD LAMP" data monitor, make sure "HI BEAM SW" turns ON-OFF linked with operation of lighting switch.
- When lighting switch is: HI BEAM SW ON
- HIGH position
Without CONSULT-II
Refer to COMBINATION SWITCH INSPECTION .
OK or NG
- OK: GO TO 2.
- NG: Check lighting switch. Refer to COMBINATION SWITCH INSPECTION .
- HEADLAMP ACTIVE TEST
With CONSULT-II
- Select "IPDM E/R" on CONSULT-II. and select "ACTIVE TEST' on "SELECT DIAG MODE" screen.
- Select "LAMPS" on "SELECT TEST ITEM" screen.
- Touch "HI" screen.
- Make sure headlamp high beam operates.
- Headlamp high beam should operate (Headlamp high beam repeats ON-OFF every 1 second).
Without CONSULT-II
- Start auto active test. Refer to AUTO ACTIVE TEST .
- Make sure headlamp high beam operates.
- Headlamp high beam should operate.
OK or NG
- OK: GO TO 3.
- NG: GO TO 4 .
- CHECK IPDM E/R
- Select "IPDM E/R" on CONSULT-II. and select "DATA MONITOR" on "SELECT DIAG MODE" screen.
- Make sure "HL LO REQ" and "HL HI REQ" turns ON when lighting switch is in HI position.
- When lighting switch is: HL LO REQ ON
- HIGH position: HL HI REQ ON
OK or NG
- OK: Replace IPDM E/R.
- NG: Replace BCM. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF BCM .
- CHECK HEADLAMP INPUT SIGNAL
With CONSULT-II
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect front combination lamp RH and LH connector.
- Select "IPDM E/R" on CONSULT-II. and select "ACTIVE TEST" on "SELECT DIAG MODE" screen.
- Select "LAMPS" on "SELECT TEST ITEM" screen.
- Touch "HI" screen.
- When headlamp high beam is operating, check voltage between front combination lamp RH and LH harness connector and ground (Headlamp high beam repeats ON-OFF every 1 second).
Without CONSULT-II
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect front combination lamp RH and LH connector.
- Start auto active test. Refer to AUTO ACTIVE TEST .
- When headlamp high beam is operating, check voltage between front combination lamp RH and LH harness connector and ground.
CONNECTOR TERMINAL VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONTerminals Voltage (+) (-) Connector Terminal (Wire color) RH E107 7 (L/W) Ground Battery voltage LH E11 7(G) OK or NG
- OK: GO TO 6 .
- NG: GO TO 5.
- CHECK HEADLAMP CIRCUIT
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect IPDM E/R connector.
- Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector E122 terminal 27 (L/W) and front combination lamp RH harness connector E107 terminal 7 (L/W).
- 27 (L/W) - 7 (L/W): Continuity should exist.
- Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector E122 terminal 28 (G) and front combination lamp LH harness connector E11 terminal 7 (G).Fig 5: Checking Continuity Between IPDM E/R Harness Connector E122 Terminal 27 (L/W) And Front Combination Lamp RH Harness Connector E107 Terminal 7 (L/W)

- 28 (G) - 7 (G): Continuity should exist.
OK or NG
- OK: Replace IPDM E/R.
- NG: Repair harness or connector.
- CHECK HEADLAMP GROUND
- Check continuity between front combination lamp RH harness connector E107 terminal 8 (B) and ground.
- 8 (B) - Ground: Continuity should exist.

OK or NG
- OK: Replace headlamp assembly.
- NG: Repair harness or connector.
- Check continuity between front combination lamp RH harness connector E107 terminal 8 (B) and ground.
