4. In N Position, Vehicle Moves

SYMPTOM:
Vehicle moves forward or backward when selecting N position.
- CHECK PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION (PNP) SWITCH CIRCUIT
With CONSULT-II
Does "TCM INPUT SIGNALS" in "DATA MONITOR" show damage to park/neutral position (PNP) switch circuit?
Without CONSULT-II
Does self-diagnosis show damage to park/neutral position (PNP) switch circuit?
Yes or No
- Yes: Check park/neutral position (PNP) switch circuit. Refer to "DTC P0705 PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ".
- No: GO TO 2.
- CHECK CONTROL LINKAGE
Check control cable.
OK or NG
- OK: GO TO 4.
- NG: GO TO 3.
- ADJUST CONTROL CABLE
Adjust control cable.
- Refer to "CONTROL CABLE ADJUSTMENT ".
- CHECK A/T FLUID LEVEL
Check A/T fluid level.
OK or NG
- OK: GO TO 5.
- NG: Refill ATF.
- CHECK A/T FLUID CONDITION
- Remove oil pan.
- Check A/T fluid condition.
OK or NG
- OK: GO TO 7.
- NG: GO TO 6.
- DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM
- Disassemble A/T.
- Check the following items:
- Forward clutch assembly
- Overrun clutch assembly
- Reverse clutch assembly
OK or NG
- OK: GO TO 7.
- NG: Repair or replace damaged parts.
- CHECK SYMPTOM
Check again.
OK or NG
- OK: INSPECTION END
- NG: GO TO 8.
- CHECK TCM INSPECTION
- perform TCM input/output signal inspection.
- If NG, recheck TCM pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
OK or NG
- OK: INSPECTION END
- NG: Repair or replace damaged parts.
