12. A/T Does Not Perform Lock-up

SYMPTOM: 

A/T does not Perform Lock-up at the specified speed. 

  1. CHECK SELF-DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS 

    Does self-diagnosis show damage to torque converter clutch solenoid valve circuit after cruise test?

    Yes or No 

    1. Yes: Check torque converter clutch solenoid valve circuit. Refer to "DTC P0740 TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLENOID VALVE ".
    2. No: GO TO 2.

  2. CHECK THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR [ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION (APP) SENSOR] 

    Check throttle position sensor [accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor]. Refer to DTC P0222, P0223: TP SENSOR and DTC P2138: APP SENSOR .

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO 3.
    2. NG: Repair or replace throttle position sensor [accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor].

  3. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM 
    1. Remove control valve. Refer to "REMOVAL ".
    2. Check following items:
      • Torque converter clutch control valve
      • Torque converter relief valve
      • Torque converter clutch solenoid valve
      • Pilot valve
      • Pilot filter

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO 4.
    2. NG: Repair or replace damaged parts.
  4. CHECK SYMPTOM 

    Check again.

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: INSPECTION END 
    2. NG: GO TO 5.
  5. CHECK TCM INSPECTION 
    1. perform TCM input/output signal inspection.
    2. If NG, recheck TCM pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: INSPECTION END 
    2. NG: Repair or replace damaged parts.
