Possible Cause

ECM illuminates MIL and sets DTC when the vehicle speed is above 19 MPH (30 KM/H) and an ON signal from the stop lamp switch and ASCD brake switch are sent to the ECM at the same time, or ASCD brake switch signal is not sent to ECM for an extremely long time while driving vehicle. Possible causes are:
- Stop lamp switch circuit open or shorted.
- ASCD brake switch circuit open or shorted.
- Stop lamp switch fault
- ASCD brake switch fault
- Stop lamp switch installation fault
- ASCD brake switch installation fault
- ECM
