DTC Confirmation Test (Using CONSULT-II)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Nissan Pathfinder. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Before proceeding, ensure ambient temperature is more than 14°F (-10°C) and battery voltage is more than 11 volts at idle. If a DTC confirmation test has been previously performed, turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds before performing next DTC confirmation test.
  1. Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature.
  2. Stop engine and wait at least 10 seconds.
  3. Turn ignition on and select HO2S 1 (B1)/(B2) P1144/P0164 of HO2S 1 (B2) in DTC WORK SUPPORT mode with CONSULT-II.
  4. Touch START on CONSULT-II screen.
  5. Start engine and let it idle for at least 3 minutes.
    6. NOTE: Never raise engine speed above 3600 RPM after this step. If the engine speed limit is exceeded, return to step  5.
  6. When the following conditions are met, TESTING will be displayed on CONSULT-II screen. Maintain these conditions continuously until TESTING changes to COMPLETED (it will take 50 seconds or more).
    • ENG SPEED: 1300-2800 RPM
    • Vehicle speed: less than 62 MPH
    • B/FUEL SCHDL: 3-10 msec
    If TESTING is not displayed after 5 minutes, retry from step  2.
  7. Press SELF-DIAG RESULTS. If NG is displayed, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If OK is displayed, system is okay at this time.
