Diagnostic Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Nissan Pathfinder. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM 116-pin harness connector. For ECM location, see Figure. Check voltage between body ground and ECM harness connector terminal No. 121 (White/Red wire). See Figure. Battery voltage should exist. If problem is found, go to next step. If no problem is found, go to step 3.
- Check following:
- Check for poor, loose, corroded or damage to terminal connections in in-line harness connectors E1, M1, M32 and F23. See ENGINE PERFORMANCE in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in ELECTRICAL.
- Check fuse No. 62 (7.5-amp).
- Check for open in circuit between fuse and ECM.
- Problem may be intermittent. See INTERMITTENTS in TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article. If no problem is found, go to next step. If any problem is found repair as necessary.
- Clear DTC. Repeat DTC CONFIRMATION TEST. If DTC resets, go to next step. If DTC does not reset, system is okay at this time.
- Replace ECM. See ENGINE CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT under ENGINE CONTROL MODULE. Perform appropriate procedures under PROGRAMMING .
