DTC Confirmation Test (Using Generic Scan Tool)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Nissan Pathfinder. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: DO NOT use ECM ground terminals when measuring voltage.
NOTE: Use the following test to check overall function of HO2S 1 circuit. During this test, 1st trip DTC may not be confirmed.
  1. Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Backprobing at ECM, measure voltage between ground and ECM terminal No. 35 (bank 1) or No. 16 (bank 2). See Figure.
  2. While observing voltmeter, increase engine speed to 2000 RPM and hold steady. If voltage remains in 0.2-0.4 volt range, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If voltage varies out of the 0.2-0.4 volt range, system is okay at this time.
