Possible Causes

ECM illuminates MIL and sets DTC P0133 when Bank 1 HO2S 1 response time is too long. ECM illuminates MIL and sets DTC P0153 when Bank 2 HO2S 1 response time is too long. Possible causes are:
- HO2S 1 circuit open or shorted.
- Poor, loose, corroded or damaged terminal connections.
- Defective HO2S 1.
- Defective HO2S 1 heater.
- Fuel pressure incorrect.
- Defective injectors.
- Intake air leaks.
- Exhaust leaks.
- Defective PCV valve.
- Defective Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor.
