DTC Confirmation Test Malfunction "B" (Using CONSULT-II)

- Turn ignition on. Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. If engine will not start, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If engine starts, go to next step.
- On CONSULT-II, select DATA MONITOR mode. Observe MAS A/F SE B1 voltage while increasing engine speed to 4000 RPM. There should be a linear voltage increase in response to engine speed increase. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
- Maintain the following conditions for at least 10 consecutive seconds:
- Engine speed at 2000 RPM or more.
- Throttle position angle of 3 volts or more (as observed on CONSULT-II).
- Driving the vehicle uphill will help maintain engine load for the specified time period.
- If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, system is okay at this time.
