DTC Confirmation Test (Using Generic Scan Tool)

NOTE: If DTC confirmation procedure had been previously run, turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds before continuing.
  1. Start engine and warm to operating temperature. Turn ignition off. Wait at least 10 seconds.
  2. Start engine. Raise engine speed to 3500-4000 RPM with no load for at least one minute. Allow engine to idle for one minute.
  3. Repeat steps  1 and  2 . Using scan tool, select MODE 3. If DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If DTC is not detected, system is okay at this time.
