Diagnostic Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Nissan Pathfinder. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect suspect IVT control solenoid valve 2-pin harness connector. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 . Check resistance between IVT control solenoid valve terminals (component side). Resistance should be 7.0-7.5 ohms at 68°F (20°C) between terminals No. 1 and 2. There should be no continuity between either terminal and ground. If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, replace IVT control solenoid valve.
  2. No problem is indicated at this time. Problem may be intermittent. See INTERMITTENTS in TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
