Component Inspection

Throttle Position Sensor 

  1. Reconnect all disconnected harness connectors.
  2. Perform Throttle valve closed position learning, see THROTTLE VALVE CLOSED POSITION LEARNING .
  3. Turn ignition switch ON.
  4. Set selector lever to "D" position (A/T models) or "1st" position (M/T models).
  5. Check voltage between ECM terminals No. 73 (TP sensor 1) and No. 74 (TP sensor 2), for 2.5L or ECM terminals No. 83 (TP sensor 1) and No. 84 (TP sensor 2), for 3.5L and engine ground under the conditions shown. See Fig 1-Fig 2 .
  6. If "NG", replace electric throttle control actuator and go to the next step.
  7. Perform throttle valve closed position learning, see THROTTLE VALVE CLOSED POSITION LEARNING .
  8. Perform idle air volume learning, see IDLE AIR VOLUME LEARNING .
